Carlton Hotel Collection developing a design hotel
Carlton Hotel Collection and ConverseDC together are developing a design hotel at the location Badhuisweg 11 in Scheveningen, replacing an existing office block.
The agreement to develop the hotel, meanwhile sealed by a signed building contract, includes the construction of a new hotel inspired by the relaxed style of The Shutters in Santa Monica, California, but with the feel and touch of New England. This kind of ambience will appeal to the business as well as the private sector.
The four-star Scheveningen city hotel with 87 comfortable rooms will be provided with a parking garage, an extensive lounge with an American cocktail bar and a characteristic wooden porch around the whole of the building.
A special collaboration between three architects - TMS Architects from Portsmouth (NH), Michel Post architects and Piet Boon – sees to the design of both the exterior and the interior.
The hotel is expected to open around mid-2013.
